Wolverines end 11-game slide

Four players scored in double figures as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines snapped a 11-game slide last Thursday by crushing the Menahga Braves 80-35 in non-conference play.

Avery Jackson paced the Wolverines with 15 tallies while Rachel Craig scored 12 and both Caitlin Volkmann and Hope Theisen had 10 off the bench.

Jackson had a superb all-around game with eight rebounds, seven steals and four assists.

"It was nice to get a win," WDC head coach Brian Silbernick said. "The girls were excited with the win. We had a good overall game from everyone."

Emily Miron dominated the boards for WDC grabbing 15 rebounds.

Tarah Cleveland was Menahga's lone double figure scorer with 10 points.
