Section 6A volleyball playoff opener moved to Friday

The Section 6A volleyball playoffs have been postponed tonight until Oct. 27 due to weather conditions in the area.

The Wolverines were scheduled to take on Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal at 7 p.m. However, weather across the area was deteriorating and the section officials decided if one game can’t be played tonight, they all won’t be played to keep the tournament on track.

Wadena-Deer Creek, the No. 1 seed in the north, will now play on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. against NCE-UH. If the Wolverines win, their quarterfinal will take place on Oct. 31 at Fergus Falls at 6:30 p.m.

Other quarterfinal round games included New York Mills hosting Sebeka, Pelican Rapids hosting Menahga, Barnesville hosting Frazee, Underwood hosting Battle Lake, Henning playing host to Wheaton-Herman-Norcross, Breckenridge hosting West Central Area and Clinton-Graceville Beardsley hosting Parkers Prairie.

The quarterfinals will take place at Fergus Falls on Oct. 31 with the semi-finals taking place on Nov. 2. The Section 6A Championship will be held on Nov. 4.
