Wolverines see winning streak end at four
The Menahga Braves put the skids on Wadena-Deer Creek's four-game winning streak Thursday with an 8-5 Park Region Conference win.
The Braves roughed up Justin Dykhoff with 10 hits and seven runs in 1 ⅔ innings of work. Noah Ross took over for 3 ⅓ innings and Noah Roers took over for the last two frames.
Mitch Peterson went 3-for-4 in the loss with two RBIs. Graham Skoog and Tom Litzau teamed up for four hits, three runs and two RBIs.
"We are off to a solid 4-2 start but we still have a lot of work to do," WDC head coach Kyle Dykhoff said. "The team is working hard to play more complete games."
The Wolverines will host Parkers Prairie Friday in a Park Region Conference game.

Tyler Wheeler and Wyatt Hamann combined for a two-hitter Tuesday as the Wolverines crushed Sebeka in a Park Region Conference game.
Wheeler gave the Wolverines four scoreless innings on the hill. The senior standout fanned six to gain the mound win. Hamann struck out the side in his one inning of work.
Noah Ross and Jake Dykhoff led an 18-hit attack by the Wolverines. Ross went 3-for-4, scored three times and drove in two runs. Dykhoff was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Preston Warren and Andrew McCullough combined for four hits, seven runs and four RBIs.

Jake Dykhoff struck out 14 with a complete game effort Monday as the Wolverines rallied to shade the Mainstreeters in their home ballpark.
Dykhoff scattered five hits in his seven innings of work.
Down 1-0 in the fifth, the Wolverines put together three runs for a lead they never relinquished. Sauk Centre starting pitcher Simon Weller held the Wolverines scoreless for the first four innings. A three-run fifth gave the Wolverines all the scoring they needed.
Preston Warren led a 10-hit attack by the Wolverines by going 3-for-3 with two runs. Dykhoff combined with Max Phillips for four hits, two runs and two RBIs.
Kyle Froseth went 2-for-3 and scored a run for the Mainstreeters. Luke Van Beck and Dylan Haskamp each collected one hit and one RBI.
