Wadena Legion bows to Walker/Nevis in eight inning slugfest

Walker broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth with a seven-run explosion that gave them an 8-2 lead.

Wadena came right back in the top of the fifth scoring eight runs to take a 10-8 lead. Walker was able to send the game into extra innings but the hard-hitting Post 171 crew grabbed an 11-10 lead in the top of the eighth.

"I was proud of the way we didn't hang our heads and we continued to battle," Wadena Coach Kevin Tumberg said.

Wadena 13-8, Staples 3-3
