Post 171 rallies to earn split with Walker/Nevis

Walker's Marcus Woods dives home ahead of a tag by Wadena Legion catcher Wyatt Weber in Monday's first game.

Kevin Tumberg's Post 171 crew recovered from a drubbing in Game 1 to gain a split with Walker/Nevis June 9 on the Wadena diamond.

"We did not come ready to play in Game 1," Tumberg said. "We were flat and made a lot of mistakes that cost us the game. We did not hit the ball real well until our last few at-bats/ We have to give Walker credit. They came ready to play from the get-go and took it to us."

Mike Behl took a pounding in his two innings of work giving up seven runs on eight hits and five walks. Joe Wallgren came on in the third and was touched for six runs.
