The Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Haman, of rural Bluffton, was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on September 27 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton, with Father Aaron Kuhn as celebrant.
Don, 78, passed away unexpectedly at his home near Bluffton, MN, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
Donald Charles Haman was born to Herman and Ruth (Voge) Haman on December 12, 1938 at the family farm outside of Bluffton. He was born and raised on a farm, he purchased the farm after his dad's passing and farmed until his passing. He graduated from New York Mills High School in 1956. Don entered the US Army on February 21, 1957 and served until his honorable discharge on December 3, 1958 at Ft. Lewis, WA. Upon completing his training Don was stationed in Korea as a Water Supply Specialist. After being discharged from active service, he served in the reserves.
In his youth, Don played baseball and enjoyed tinkering in the work shop with metal. He found joy in spear fishing and deer hunting. He also enjoyed reading.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Ruth; and brother, Kenneth Haman.
Left to remember Don are his sister Judith Roden of Albertville; sister-in-law, Phyllis Haman; nieces and nephews, Allan (Angie) Roden, Kevin (Anita) Roden, Carmen (Tim) Von Ruden, Brian (Kelly) Roden, Julie (Marc) Dubois, Daniel (Stacy) Haman, along with great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Allan Roden, Kevin Roden, Brian Roden, Daniel Haman, Darrell Haman, and Jerry Haman.
Burial was in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Bluffton, MN.
