The funeral service for Diane Packard was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Wrightstown, with Pastor Mark Bateson presiding. Diane, 91, passed away surrounded by her family at her home near Hewitt, MN on September 23, 2017.
Diane was born on May 23, 1946, and was adopted at the age of five by Robert and Eunice (Knox) Fischer. She graduated from Bertha-Hewitt High School. On June 1, 1968, she was united in marriage with Arthur Packard at the Wrightstown United Methodist Church.
Diane was an avid member of the Wrightstown United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for 35 years, and held the Song Coordination position for 15 years. Diane enjoyed fishing, tending to her garden, and singing with the church choir.
Diane will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 49 years, Art of Hewitt; children, Timothy Packard of Sauk Rapids and Laurel (Troy Niskanen) Packard of Park Rapids; grandchildren, Ethan and Arika Packard; brother, Arvid Fischer of Sartell; along with a multitude of family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers were Clifford Greenwood and Robert Rurup. Serving as pallbearers were Ethan Packard, Carl Roth, Cody Roth, William Packard, Morris Dahl, and Michael Schwartz.
Burial was in Woodside Cemetery, Wrightstown, MN.
