Terry Rogers

Memorial services were held for Terry Rogers, age 69 of Bertha, Minnesota on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Karvonen Funeral Home in Wadena, Minnesota with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. The honorary pallbearers were Derek Rogers, Jarrod Rogers, Justin Wiese, Sean Templeton Dylan Ostgaard and Nick Ostgaard.

Terry Allen Rogers was born on May 16, 1947 in Williston, North Dakota. His parents are LaVern Lydia (Comstock) Rogers and the late Lorne Dale Rogers. Terry received a degree as a diesel mechanic at Detroit Lakes Technical College and an electrical lineman from Wadena Technical College. On May 31, 1980 Terry was united in marriage with Linda Kay Black at Halstad Lutheran Church in Halstad, Minnesota. Linda passed away on April 12, 2007. Terry has most recently made his home in Bertha where he enjoyed driving truck over the road.

Terry loved fishing, working on cars, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, listening to good old rock & roll, playing cards, tinkering in the garage and telling stories. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast where he enjoyed supporting area motorcycle charity runs and belonged to the Domingo Riders Motorcycle Club. His favorite motorcycle trip was going to Sturgis in 2011.

On May 13, 2017 Terry passed away after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family at St. Williams Care Home in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota at 69 years of age. Preceding Terry in death was his father, Lorne Rogers; wife Linda Rogers; daughter, Lydia Rogers; sister, Gail Knudson Rogers; great-grandparents, Laura & Emery Comstock; aunt, Ruth Holm and uncle, Kenneth Comstock.

Terry is survived by his mother, LaVern Rogers of Wadena; children: Tim (Karen) Rogers of West Concord; Tammy (Serkiz) Mensuroglu of Chandler, AZ; Tim (Becki) Harrison of Bay City, WI; Cecelia Ostgaard of Halstad and Kelby Rogers of Bertha; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings: Donna (Junior) Horn of Sheridan, WY; Tim (Jayne) Rogers of Wadena and Harvey (Kathy) Rogers of New York Mills; many other relatives and a host of friends.

Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen Funeral Home of Wadena.
