The funeral service for Robert "Bob" Schultz of Verndale, MN, was held at 2:00 p.m. on April 22 in the Family Life Church in Verndale, with Pastor Ken Uhren presiding.

Bob was born at the family farm on September 12, 1936 in Watkin, MN to Alfred and Edith (Blomker) Schultz. He attended District #3 until March of 1943, after that he attended Lincoln Elementary, and graduated with the class of 1954 from Litchfield High School. He attended St. Cloud State, and began student teaching at Mounds View High School. He began teaching in Verndale in 1959, and retired 34 years later in December of 1992.

Bob was united in marriage with the love of his life, Judy Ryan on July 6, 1961. Through all the up and downs in their life, they always stood by each other with helping hands and words of encouragement. In 1964, they adopted their son, Dan and adopted daughter, Laura, in 1966. They stayed active in the Verndale Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School, and participating on the Ad. Board.

Bob enjoyed teaching ATV, firearm, and snowmobile safety classes. He was a member of the Verndale Fire Department, Verndale Lions Club, Wing River Bowmen, and the Mit-Ti-Quab Club. Judy and Bob were the first Hall of Fame members in the archery club. He found great joy spending time with his family.

Bob, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2017, at his home in Verndale, MN.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers,; and a sister.

He will be remembered by his wife Judy; son Dan Schultz of Detroit Lakes, daughter, Laura Corcoran of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, along with a multitude of friends and family.

Honorary pallbearers were Andrew and Ryan Corcoran. Serving as pallbearers were Brittney Ewert, Tyler Schmitz, Jason Schultz, Todd Miller, Michael Corcoran, and David Olson.

Burial was in Green Lawn Cemetery in Verndale, MN.
