Free meals offered to children this summer at WDC Schools
The Wadena-Deer Creek Food Service program is offering free meals for any youth 18 and under at two sites this summer.
At the middle/high school, breakfast will be served 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. The program runs from June 4 to Aug. 16. There will be no meals July 4-5 or Fridays in August. At Deer Creek School, lunch will be offered on summer recreation days only, 10:45 a.m. to noon, starting June 4 to July 6.
The goal of the program is to ensure children receive a nutritious and balanced meal when school is not in session. Menus are available at the district office, online at www.wdc2155.k12.mn.us, or by emailing email@example.com.
The lunches are provided free of charge thanks to a federal grant from the United States Department of Agriculture.
