Free bicycle helmet giveaway extended

Due to a surplus of helmets left over from the initial bike helmet clinics, the Lakewood Health System Foundation will be holding two more clinics to give away free helmets as part of the annual "Helmets Worth Wearing" program.

The clinics will be held at Lakewood's Staples clinic on Wednesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 19 from 1 to 6 p.m. Children must be present for the fitting, and supplies are limited, so helmets will be given away on a first come, first served basis.

All area children are welcome to attend either of the scheduled clinics to receive a free helmet. For more information, please contact Megan Kruse, Lakewood Health System Foundation Assistant at (218)894-8508.
