Wadena graduate appointed judge

The Honorable Rodney C. Hanson, a 1978 Wadena High School graduate, was recently appointed by governor Mark Dayton as judge to Minnesota's eighth judicial district in Pope county.

Hanson's investiture was held Nov. 15, where he was sworn in at his chambered courthouse in Glenwood. Along with family and friends, Hanson's parents, longtime Wadena residents Harlyn and Janette Hanson were present. Hanson was sworn in by a family bible held by his mother.

Prior to his judgeship, Hanson was a partner for 27 years at Anderson, Larson, Hanson and Saunders Law Firm in Willmar. He lives in Willmar with his wife Deb and they have three grown children.

Growing up in Wadena, Hanson was a three-sport athlete, an Eagle Scout and was involved in theater and student government. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead and William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul.
