Minnesota master naturalist volunteer training to be held

Do you enjoy learning about the natural world? If so, consider becoming a Minnesota Master Naturalist volunteer!

The Hennepin County Environmental Services is hosting a Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteer Training at the U of M Research Outreach Engagement Center, Minneapolis - beginning July 27 and running through Aug. 5, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Experience a unique learning opportunity by studying the U of M's resident wildlife as well as the natural wonders surrounding the center. This is an outstanding location that will provide opportunities to learn about wildlife that you will not experience at any other location.

This class will cover the natural and cultural history of the Prairies and Potholes Region. Instructors will provide an in-depth overview of the prairie ecosystem. Through the class, participants will develop their ability to observe nature and will learn tools to improve these skills. In addition, participants will improve their communication skills by sharing knowledge with other participants and working on a group project.

There is a cost for the class, which includes materials. Scholarships are available.
