RMH RIDE kickoff set for Jan. 18

Seasons greetings from the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) RIDE Committee as we invite you to join us this Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 for the RMH RIDE Kickoff Party. The event will be held at the V.F.W. in New York Mills.

Grimmace and Hamburglar enjoyed picking up the 2014, Harley-Davidson Street Glide from Apols Harley-Davidson in Alexandria. The motorcycle will be given away at the 13th Annual Ronald McDonald House RIDE. The Harley-Davidson will be on display at the V.F.W. with raffle ticket sales beginning at noon. Bingo starting at 1 p.m. Live entertainment '60 CYCLE HUM' at 8 p.m.

Madhatters auditions to be held Jan. 26, 28

Madhatters Community Theater will be holding open auditions on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. They are looking for three men and three women between the ages of 25 and 65 for parts in Ghost of a Chance, a full-length comedy where a woman tries to move on with her life over her husband's dead body.

The performance dates are set for Mar. 28-30 and Apr. 4-6.

Cyber Fiesta set for Jan. 20

The Cyber Cafe in Wadena will be holding a Cyber Fiesta Monday, Jan. 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be Mexican food and a free will offering. All proceeds benefit the youth who visit the Cyber Cafe.

Dollars for Scholars fundraiser on tap Jan. 20

The Staples and Motley Dollars for Scholars organization will be holding their annual spaghetti dinner and auction on Monday, Jan. 20 in the Staples Motley High School cafeteria. Spaghetti dinner served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The auction will start at 5:45 p.m. Proceeds will go towards scholarships for the 2014 graduating seniors. Auction bill can be found online at:

Elementary Little Dribblers Basketball Clinic

The Wadena-Deer Creek High School boys' and girls' basketball programs will be hosting a Little Dribblers clinic designed to allow Kindergarten through second grade-aged boys and girls the opportunity to learn the game of basketball, in a fun and encouraging environment.

The clinic will be held Jan. 18 at the high school gym from 9 to 11 a.m., Jan. 25 at the high school gym from 9 to 11 a.m., Feb. 1 at the elementary gym from 9 to 11 a.m. and Feb. 15 at the elementary gym from 9 to 11 a.m.

Participants will perform during the JV halftime on Feb. 18 boys' game and the girls' game Feb. 20.
