Going 'green' for food drive

Wadena-Deer Creek junior high student council organized a food drive in honor of March as Food Shelf Awareness Month.

The student council challenged students to hit certain goals. If the goals were met, designated staff would have their hair sprayed green! Students collected a combination of non-perishable items and monetary donations totaling 260 items. As a result, Principal Tyler Church and English teacher Jay Patterson received a new "green" hairdo courtesy of the junior high student council.

Kathie Davis serves as advisor and photographed the "green" event for a worthy cause. The food and money will be donated to the Wadena County Food Shelf.
