Steve Porter of Lake Bronson talked to Wadena-Deer Creek elementary and high school students on Friday, Sept. 18 about whitetail deer.

Porter owns and operates a deer farm in northern Minnesota and brought three bucks -- Shifty, Redwood and Thor -- in a custom-built trailer.

Porter is a chief deputy in the Kittson County Sheriff's Office and takes vacation days to educate kids about deer farming, hunting and the positive effects both have on building family relationships. Porter's goal is to get kids motivated and excited about hunting and the outdoors.
