Homecoming Parade returning to WDC in 2009

I am pleased to announce we will once again have the Homecoming Parade in 2009. Our goal is to make this year's parade bigger and better than last year. Our weeklong Homecoming festivities will culminate with the parade and Friday night's football game against the Staples-Motley Cardinals. The parade, with its theme of "Shuffle the Cards!" will be on display Friday, Oct. 2, starting at approximately 2 p.m. The WDC homecoming spirit will be alive as students, staff, and community members display their school pride in downtown Wadena.

We are in need of parade entrants. For anyone interested in entering a float, please contact the school at (218) 632-2300 or stop by the high school office to pick up an entry form. The parade will organize at 1 p.m. on Community Center Drive north of the high school. It will then proceed east on Aldrich Avenue until reaching Jefferson Street. After heading south on Jefferson we will head back west along Franklin Avenue. The Wadena Police Department and Wadena County Sherriff's Department will lead the way and close off the parade route.

Please join us for the parade, either by entering a float or simply coming out and watching. This was a very successful event last year and we hope to make it an even bigger success this year. We hope to see everyone on Oct. 2. Your participation is an excellent way to show support for our students and community.
