FCCLA members attend leadership camp

Hope Norenberg, MN FCCLA Vice President of Public Relations.

Chapter members, region officers and state officers of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), attended the Dynamic Leadership I training July 29 — 31 at the College of Saint Benedict campus in St. Joseph. Attendees discovered their roles as an officer, learned about FCCLA's national programs, enjoyed networking together, and gained valuable leadership skills.

"Superheroes" was the theme for this year's youth leadership training. Encouraging members to exceed expectations and become superheroes in their own chapters and communities. Officers were assigned to design creative workshops on FCCLA National Programs and preparing for a factual knowledge test of FCCLA, prior to the Leadership Training. Knowledge and new ideas students gained throughout the training through workshops and speakers will be implemented in their chapter and region levels statewide; the FCCLA region officers also worked to plan their fall conferences and local chapter activities throughout the upcoming school year.

Region officers, State peer educators, Junior High Council members and chapter leaders attended Dynamic Leadership I lead by the State Executive Council. Kayla Hanson, Wadena-Deer Creek, Treasurer; Herman-Norcross, Secretary; Andrew Backman, Herman-Norcross, President; Gracie Vatthauer, Wheaton, Vice President and Hope Norenberg, MN FCCLA Vice President of Public Relations, attended the leadership camp.
