Boy injured in ATV accident

An Oak Valley Township boy was injured at around 6 p.m. Thursday near his home when his Arctic Cat 400 all-terrain vehicle went into a ditch on 260th Street, 10 miles southwest of Wadena.

The teenager was heading west on his ATV when he met a Ford F-150 driven by Loren and Kathy Buchholz of rural Deer Creek. He braked his ATV, apparently hit some loose gravel, and went into a ditch on the north side of the road.

An Otter Tail County deputy at the scene said the injuries were not life-threatening. He was taken by ambulance to Tri-County Health Care in Wadena for treatment.

Units from Tri-County Health Care, Otter Tail County and Hewitt Fire Department responded to the accident.
