Wadena man charged for alleged sex crimes with 13-year-old girl
A Wadena man has been charged with two felony counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct after allegedly engaging in multiple sex acts over time with a minor, according to a court documented statement of probable cause.
The statement says a witness claimed to have seen a 21-year-old male engaging in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl. On Aug. 14 at approximately 9 p.m., officers met with the witness regarding a report that they had seen the couple both in bed and kissing in public on multiple occasions, according to the probable cause statement.
The 21-year-old was identified as Alix Ross Beyer, 21, of Wadena, the statement said, adding that the 13-year-old girl had been living with Beyer and his girlfriend, who had met the girl as a babysitter, and Beyer's girlfriend claimed she didn't know the girl was 13.
A juvenile witness at the residence said the couple allegedly used color coded bracelets to indicate they were in a sexual relationship, as stated by the 13-year-old girl and recorded in probable cause documents. Beyer was arrested Aug. 14, and a sexual assault kit on the 13-year-old was secured as evidence, the documents added.
A statement taken from the girl Aug. 15 reveals that the couple had allegedly been together for three weeks prior to Beyer's arrest and had sexual intercourse on several occasions during that time, according to the court documented statement of probable cause.
In Beyer's statement, he claimed to be under the impression that the girl was 17. He then allegedly admitted that he knew he shouldn't have had sex with her due to her age and that he can get in trouble with the law for that, according to the probable cause statement, which also showed that a contested omnibus hearing is set for Sept. 25.
