Verdict: Jury finds St. Marie guilty on all counts

Bjerga is featured author at local Memorial week events

Author Alan Bjerga is returning to his hometown area during Memorial Day Week and will be the featured speaker at several events.

The Motley Historical Society will be hosting a book signing in conjunction with its annual open house, held Memorial Day from 1 to 4 p.m. at City Hall, 316 Highway 10 S. Bjerga will autograph copies of his first book, "Endless Appetites" which deals with the effects that corn, soybean and other crop prices have on world hunger.

Bjerga's decade as a Washington D.C. journalist, including six years as agriculture reporter for Bloomberg News, his extensive traveling in Ethiopia, Kenya, Thailand and Nicaragua for research, and his local background growing up on a farm south of Motley all contribute to the book. The Open House will feature exhibits of Bjerga's career. Refreshments will also be served.
