Three people injured in rainy weekend crash

Three people were injured in an accident between Wadena and Deer Creek Sunday morning during wet road conditions.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol website, a 2011 Chevrolet Cruise was heading southeast at the end of the Ottertail Cutoff on County Road 52 when it missed the stop sign and ran off the road into the east ditch on the intersection of Minnesota Highway 29.

The accident happened about 9:35 a.m. April 15.

The driver, 69-year-old Fred Carter of Lincoln, Neb., was treated and released at Tri-County Hospital.

Passenger Loralee Carter, 60, also of Lincoln, sustained a minor injury.

91-year-old passenger Floyd W. Estelick of Perham sustained a non-life threatening injury.

All three were wearing seat belts.

The Chevrolet Cruise took moderate damage and was towed to John's Car Care in Wadena.

Deer Creek Fire and Rescue and Tri-County Ambulance assisted on the scene.
