Woman charged with stealing from Wadena insurer
A 44-year-old woman from Hewitt faces a charge of felony theft for allegedly skimming money from the insurance agency where she worked.
According to court documents, police questioned Teri Lea Randall in December 2011 about money missing from the agency where she worked. Other employees of the agency suspected Randall was taking cash payments from customers and not logging them correctly, instead pocketing the money, court document said.
Randall eventually admitted that she took some money -- perhaps as much as $400 or $500, she said -- but her employer alleged more than $1,600 was missing and they believed Randall took it.
Randall was scheduled to appear in Wadena County Court on April 9.
