Snowmobile donation

The Sebeka Fire Department received a donation of a snowmobile from Austin Johnson of Sebeka with designs donated by Jim Formanek of Wadena.

Sebeka firefighter Dean Haman said the new snowmobile, with logo and graphics matching the Sebeka Fire Department design, would be replacing the old one and is to be used for rescues.

"It was a very nice donation by Austin, that's for sure," he said.

With Sebeka being surrounded by woods, some areas are impassible for other types of rescue vehicles, and Formanek said the snowmobile was needed.

Johnson said the new snowmobile is able to get anywhere, and he worked on it with his father Rex.

Johnson and Formanek got to know each other through the Uptown and their shared interest in snowmobiling. Formanek had worked on a design and wrap for the wall of Johnson & Son Well Drilling, and Johnson - who had planned to donate the snowmobile - asked Formanek if he would contribute the skin.
