Car goes airborne after driver swerves to miss dog
Two people were injured in an accident Monday after the driver swerved the car attempting to avoid hitting a dog in the roadway.
On Aug. 22, the Wadena County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 7 and 261st Avenue in Bullard's Township. Upon arriving deputies found two injured people.
The passenger, Carol Coulter of Staples, was treated on scene and then released. The driver, Vincent Coulter of Staples, was transported to Lakewood Health System by ambulance.
The vehicle occupants said that they were trying to miss a dog in the roadway when they entered the ditch and became air borne. Injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Staples Ambulance and Staples Fire Department.
