Verndale Assembly invites everyone to hear its special guests from Costa Rica on Sunday, Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m.

Jon and Jennifer Dahlager have served as missionaries in Costa Rica since 2000 with a calling to raise up the next generation of God's servants in that country and across Latin America. Jon helps coordinate youth ministry training in Costa Rica and the region, and Jennifer pours her energy into the One Million Children for Christ children's evangelism project in Costa Rica. They also have a special passion for reaching pastors' kids, founding a thriving ministry to PKs and their families in Costa Rica that has also extended into Cuba. Starting in 2012, they will be teaching extensively in Bible institute and post-graduate ministry training programs across Latin America, helping Christian leaders live out the gospel more effectively in their communities.

Jon was raised in a missionary home in Costa Rica and graduated from North Central University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Biblical languages. He also earned a master's in theological studies from Bethel Theological Seminary, and is completing a doctor of ministry program at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Before moving to Costa Rica in 2000 he served for two years as a church planter in Chicago and six years as associate pastor at a church in St. Paul, MN.

Jennifer grew up in Pelican Rapids, and lived in Bangladesh as an exchange student before studying elementary education at North Central University. Her gifts in teaching and administration make her a valuable member of Costa Rica's national children's ministry team, and her special focus is teaching children's missions in the local church. She serves alongside her husband Jon in every aspect of their missionary ministry.

Jon and Jennifer have been married 16 years and have three children, Jonathan (13), Joshua (10), and Julia (8). The youngest two were born in Costa Rica.
