Aug. 18

• A semi truck was reportedly on its side on U.S. Highway 71 near Sebeka. The truck was full of turkeys and the operator drove off the road into the ditch. He was not hurt.

• Vandalism was reported to a billboard along U.S. Highway 10.

Aug. 19

• Numerous calls came into 911 to report a vehicle vs. dump truck accident near Menahga. One of the drivers was killed in the accident.

Aug. 20

• Some parents at a day care reportedly heard a gunshot and then a bullet "ting" off of a nearby fence. A deputy investigated and couldn't determine the source of the sound, though he noted there was a siding crew in the area earlier in the day.

Aug. 21

• A woman reported her dog found a small animal and brought it home, and she was not sure what type of animal it was. An officer examined it and determined it was an infant rabbit.

Aug. 22

• A man reported his 16-year-old son rolled a car but was not injured. He said the boy lost control on the gravel but was wearing a seatbelt and survived OK, even though the pickup was totaled.
