Author Jim Proebstle to visit the Wadena City Library -- again
Author Jim Proebstle was set to make an appearance at the Wadena City Library to talk about his book, "In the Absence of Honor."
The presentation was scheduled for 5 p.m. on June 17. It's a time that is stuck in the heads of every Wadena resident -- that is precisely when an EF4 tornado was destroying a large swath of the town.
Proebstle told Renee Frethem, branch manager at the Wadena city library, that he found himself taking cover on that day.
"I found myself in the Wadena Hospital tunnel in the good care of hospital workers looking for safe shelter, as well," Proebstle wrote to Frethem. "Once the tornado had passed I took a quick tour of the southwest part of town and was shocked at the devastation."
Proebstle recently offered to donate the proceeds of the sale of 25 books, or $500, to the Trees for Wadena fundraiser.
He also rescheduled his visit to talk about "In the Absence of Honor," a story of conspiracy and intrigue set in northern Minnesota.
Proebstle will visit the Wadena City Library at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 12.
