First Pig and Wing is next weekend
The first professional vs. amateur Pig and Wing Cook-off will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Wadena Elks Lodge.
Organizers Don Scheller and Tyler Ehrmantraut expect 20-25 contestants for the 4 p.m. event, which is expected to draw a crowd of 500. Ehrmantraut works in the meat department at Super One in Wadena and has his own backyard barbecuing business. He has won state awards for his meat recipes.
For a $10 fee, guests will be able to sample 10 baby back rib recipes, 20 chicken wing recipes and vote for their favorites. They will also have the option of having five drinks.
