Five contestants will compete for the 2010 Miss Wadena Scholarship Pageant crown at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 11 at Memorial Auditorium in Wadena. The pageant had been rescheduled due to the tornado. The theme for this year's pageant is "Cowgirl Up." Miss Wadena 2009 Cassondra Behl will crown the winner. The three top spots will receive cash scholarships. There will also be talent, interview, evening gown and ambassador awards. All contestants receive a $100 cash scholarship just for participating.

Haley Dawn Anderson

Talent: Vocal solo, "Nella Fantasia," accompanied by Wendy Lindlief

Parents: Tom and Sherry Anderson

Haley will graduate in 2011. After high school, she plans to attend college and major in either music or business/ marketing. She has three siblings, Riley, Tanner and Taylor Anderson. Haley's hobbies include singing, dancing, playing piano, composing, playing tennis, being creative, mudding, wakeboarding, tubing, being at the lake, hanging out with friends, traveling, playing cards and watching movies.

Hanna Larson

Talent: Piano solo, "All of Me," by Jon Schmidt

Parents: Dr. Aaron and Peggy Larson

Hanna graduated this spring from Wadena-Deer Creek High School. Her future plans are to attend Concordia College, Moorhead, for pre-med majoring in psychology and minoring in music. She has two brothers, Alec, 9, and Drew, 15. Hanna's hobbies include playing the piano, painting, playing tennis, being at the lake, snowmobiling, wakeboarding, being outside, playing guitar and traveling.

Tess Kirkland

Talent: Hoop dancing, "Melody from Heaven"

Parents: Bryan and Lynette Kirkland

Tess graduated this spring from Wadena-Deer Creek High School. She plans to attend Concordia College, Moorhead, for acting and costume design. She has one sister, Samantha Kirkland. Her hobbies include hula hooping, singing, reading, dancing, biking, spending time with family and friends, costume design, acting and Renaissance fair.

Mary Elizabeth McGrane

Talent: Modern dance, "Animal," by Ke$ha

Parents: Cary and Renita McGrane

Mary graduated this spring from Wadena-Deer Creek High School. She plans to attend St. Catherine's. She has three siblings, Brian, Meagan and Samantha. Her hobbies include baking, dancing, running, being outside and spending time with her family.

Melannie Malaney

Talent: Dramatic lip sync, "I Feel Pretty"

Parent: Dorothy Waller

Melannie will graduate in 2011. After high school, she plans to attend Central Lakes College, Staples, for photography. She has three siblings, Dustin Cannon, Dannielle Malaney and Derrick Malaney. Her hobbies include photography, reading, writing, drawing, puzzles -- jigsaw, word and number.
