Verndale church youth to host spaghetti fundraiser

The youth group of Verndale United Methodist Church is doing a fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 10.

The menu includes all-you-can-eat spaghetti and the trimmings. Money collected from the free-will offering will be divided between three groups of needy people: the people of Haiti, children in Tanzania who are in need of beds, and the Heifer Project. Through the Heifer Project, the youth will pick out animals that will go to bring life to needy families worldwide.

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun by coming and enjoying the meal and fellowship. There will also be games for the kids. The Rev. Francis, who has visited the church and now lives in Tanzania, has sent hand-made beaded items that will be available for donations. All proceeds from these sandals, earrings and key chains will go to Tanzania to help the people of Hanga village. Fair-exchange coffee will be available for purchase.
