Dean Uselman as Patti O'Furniture was resplendent in a sparkling turquoise gown as "she" claimed the crown of Wadena's Miss Tootsie Friday night in Memorial Auditorium.

Patti O'Furniture won the people's choice award and charmed the judges with her fashion sense and personality.

Five of Wadena's bravest men competed in the pageant, which is a fundraiser for the Miss Wadena Scholarship Fund. Pageant organizer Bonnie Kingsley estimated Monday morning the event will have raised around $2,000 once all the receipts and checks are in.

The pageant opened with a group production number set to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" with the contestants dancing to "if you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it." Competitions included casual wear, evening gown, on-stage questions and talent.
