Longest Night Music Festival at NY Mills Cultural Center

Eleven local musicians will play and sing songs of the winter season for the first annual Longest Night Music Festival at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center starting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21.

The concert is free and open to all and there will be a reception following.

Among the musicians to perform is Elisa Korenne, singer-songwriter and board member of the Cultural Center. Korenne will play an original composition as well as a pair of traditional Hanuka songs. Dave Stoddard from Fergus Falls will sing original songs. Danielle Kendrick of St. Cloud will perform songs of the winter season. Scott Gunvaldson of Fergus Falls and Alan Thompson will play "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones. LeAnn Perius of Brainerd and Caitlin Robertson of Wadena will sing original songs as well as "Here Comes the Sun" by George Harrison. Jon Romer of Cass Lake will play Ojibwe songs on the traditional wooden flute as well as "In the Bleak Midwinter." The chamber music group St. Cecilia Trio will perform sacred music of the season as well. The trio includes Lisa Winter and Jackie Tellers of Wadena and the Rev. Peter Kirchner of Glenwood. Also performing will be Dave Virnala of New York Mills and Dave Mehling of the Twin Cities.
