A youth group from the Cross Winds United Methodist Church in Maple Grove arrived in Wadena on Aug. 5 for a summer missions trip.

In partnership with the United Methodist Church in Wadena, the group of 27 students and nine adults cleaned out a warehouse behind 10 Star Auto Clinic, said Chris Carr, the director of young ministries at the church.

Keith VanOrsdel donates the space to the Wadena Methodist Church to store funiture and other donated items. And Sandy and Jim Kopponen are the driving force behind the project, Sue Holzer said.

The group consists of students from 7th to 12th grade as well as the adult leaders. They cleaned out the area, painted it, and installed shelves. They also put a tabletop in the center of the room for the Wadena Methodist Church to organize items on.
