Pirates check Parkers Prairie 7-2
Mike Hejhal had a pair of hits and drove in three runs Thursday as the Pirates snapped a four-game slide by topping Parkers Prairie 7-2.
Cody Yungbauer doubled and Matt Moenkedick tripled for the Pirates. Youngbauer and Siedschlaw both came up with a pair of safeties.
Siedschlaw recorded the mound victory despite control issues.
"We did some of the small things well in this game," Verndale skipper Justin Sperling said. "We turned two double plays and some of our younger guys put together quality at bats."
The victory boosted Verndale's record to 2-3 in the Park Region Conference and 2-4 overall.
The Pirates will travel to Sebeka today (Thursday) for a PRC contest.
