Wadena woman faces felony assault charge

A Wadena woman faces a felony domestic assault charge after an altercation with her ex-boyfriend on March 9.

According to Wadena County District Court records, Sarah Ann Warner, 25, was charged March 12 with felony domestic assault, and an omnibus hearing has been set for March 31.

At 11:17 p.m., police responded to a call of a disturbance at an apartment in Wadena. When they arrived, a man there said his ex-girlfriend, Warner, had knocked on the apartment door and when he let her in, she demanded keys and tobacco from him. According to court files, Warner kicked the man in the right leg numerous times and punched him in the head several times when he said he didn't have the keys and tobacco.

The man had cuts and scratches on his leg and arm, which were photographed by police.

Warner has two prior domestic violence convictions in October 2006 and March 2007. Bond was set at $30,000 or $10,000 with conditions, with a cash bail of $1,000 with conditions set.
