Wadena man charged with domestic assault, interfering with call for ambulance
A 29-year-old Wadena man was charged with felony-level domestic assault and other charges after allegedly fighting with a woman and interfering when she attempted to call 911.
Jacob Edward Pugsley is accused of breaking a woman's cellular phone in half when she attempted to call 911 to get an ambulance for him. She was attempting to call for an ambulance because he appeared ill. Court records said Pugsley also grabbed her around the throat with his arms and covered her mouth. The alleged victim bit Pugsley, apparently make him release her, court records said.
Pugsley was charged Jan. 7 in Wadena County District Court with felony domestic assault, domestic assault by strangulation and interference with a 911 call. Court records indicate Pugsley had domestic violence convictions in September 2001, November 2002 and April 2008.
