Two roads become minimum maintenance
Four and half miles of Wadena County roads 145 and 154 in Huntersville Township are now classified as minimum maintenance roads after commissioners approved Highway Engineer Joel Ulring's request. Both roads have an average daily traffic of 20 vehicles, Ulring said. The roads are being considered for revocation to the township and he discussed the decision with them.
Ulring checked with the mail carrier and the Menahga School District transportation director and there appears to be no issues with this designation. There are no school bus routes and no year-round residents on the roadways, Ulring said.
He also notified the Cass County engineer. Cass County is considering the same designation for the portion of the road that lies on that side of the county line, he said.
