The Los Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant in Perham has been closed until further notice just six days after the Los Jalapenos in Wadena was closed.

The Pioneer Journal contacted Pat Strand, the owner of the Perham restaurant Monday seeking information from him about the closing of the Wadena restaurant. At that time Strand said the former manager, Yobani Melchor, had left the business because of "family issues" and was believed to be living in Georgia. Strand tried to keep both restaurants open after Melchor left March 27 but when the lease on the Wadena restaurant expired last week he decided against renewing it because the responsibility for operating both was too great.

Strand could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.

A member of the Perham Police Department told the Pioneer Journal Wednesday afternoon they had no information about the reason for the closing of the Perham restaurant.

Perham is a community in Otter Tail County located 20 miles northwest of Wadena.
