Lions club hosts dinner for baseball tournament
Last weekend the 6th annual Highway 10 baseball tournament was held at the Perham and New York Mills fields. This tournament is in connection with the Christopher Benz Foundation. It was started by Chris' mother after he took his life when he was a senior in high school. So this tournament is focused on teenage suicide and the signs to look for. There were 24 teams from all over Minnesota and the Dakotas.
Lunch on Saturday was prepared and served by the Perham Lakes Lions together with the New York Mills Lions at the New York Mills High School. There were over 500 people served hot dogs, beans, chips and cookies. After the lunch there was a program presented in the auditorium with a speaker who spoke on her son's suicide.
