Shot fired at Bluffton home

Agnes Geiser of rural Bluffton found a broken window in her bathroom and a bullet hole, upper left, in the siding of her two-story home Saturday morning. Geiser said law enforcement authorities suspect the person who fired the shot just after midnight may have been shooting at road signs.

An 83-year-old Bluffton woman was awakened just after midnight on Saturday morning after someone shot at her home.

Agnes Geiser told the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office that a window of her house was broken. She had been sleeping in the next room when she heard the glass break.

The deputy who responded to Geiser's call saw the broken window and noted that it had been shot from the outside, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. A bullet was also lodged in the side of the house. The bullet was removed; it appeared to be from a handgun.

Reached by phone Monday afternoon, Geiser said she'd rather not comment on the shooting.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (218) 998-8555.
