Creamy Apple Pie

My family goes a little crazy with pies at Thanksgiving. We usually have at least a half-dozen pies, sometimes up to a dozen. This is a favorite that is really easy to make and usually is eaten quickly.

Creamy Apple Pie

2 and one-half tablespoons all-purpose flour

One-half teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg

One-fourth teaspoon salt

Three-fourths cup sugar

One unbeaten egg

One cup sour cream

One and one-half teaspoons vanilla

Two cups Granny Smith apples (diced and peeled, about 4 apples)

2 unbaked 9-inch pie shells

Sift together the flour, nutmeg, salt and sugar. Add the egg and blend together. Then add the sour cream and vanilla. Add the apples and stir carefully. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell. Top with second pie shell. Bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and let rest 30 minutes to cool and set before serving.
