WDC fifth-graders embark on a reading adventure each fall to improve their research, reading and letter writing skills. They all correspond to a major league baseball team and most students receive information back, including cards, memorabilia, stickers and an occasional team jersey.

Twins grant benefits Wadena baseball
The Minnesota Twins Community Fund Board of Directors provided Wadena Area Youth Baseball with a $1,000 grant this summer. The grant went toward umpires, baseballs and equipment, according to baseball organizer Kyle Dykhoff.August 05, 2009

Little League’s big backer
Kyle Dykhoff always wanted to play Little League baseball when he was a kid but he never got the chance.
That is one of the reasons he has made sure the town has a Little League program this summer.
