A few changes this week — for the better

It seems like 2009 has been about nothing but change at the Pioneer Journal and Intercom, and there are a few more this week. Hopefully our readers will like them.

Stockings seem emptier than ever

It’s been a tradition for decades in Wadena, organized by the Wadena Pioneer Journal and now with our new partners, the Madhatters. The need this year is likely to be the highest in decades, too, and there may be some actual empty stockings.

Cash for Clunkers: wild success or miserable failure?

Cash for Clunkers has been the most successful program in the history of civilization. Cash for Clunkers has been a boondoggle — a prime example of government run amok. It all depends who you ask. It’s amazing that we hear those two statements constantly, presented all the time, with no one trying to reconcile them.
