This week at Fair Oaks Lodge there was chapel, bingo, crafts, ball games, trivia, and a DJ Polka Party afternoon on Friday. Immanuel Lutheran and St. John Lutheran were there with communion services.

Memories of residents who could still shine 
One morning at Fair Oaks Lodge, I enjoyed sitting in on one of the Farmer’s Breakfast days I have been hearing about. They are held in the pretty third floor dining room. I could smell the ham, bacon, eggs and coffee before I got there, along with the happy sound of folks visiting.

Tesch helping Haiti
Kris Tesch of Wadena is sewing and taking donations for the Haiti Rescue Center and Orphanage in Haiti. She is sewing pillowcase dresses, aprons, diapers and rubber pants for the orphanage. They lost everything including their building. They have to start all over again.

You, me and the Wii
Fair Oaks Lodge extended an invitation in the Wadena-Deer Creek High School, asking for groups to come and spend time with the residents as part of their activities program. Coaches for Wadena’s Squirt A hockey team (a group of 11 boys ages 9-11) and a few hockey sisters, went to Fair Oaks Lodge to play Nintendo Wii with the residents and Beach Ball Games.

The main event at Fair Oaks Lodge this week was the Valentine Party on Friday. Those lively Motley Vagabonds played until 3 p.m., when the 2010 Fair Oaks Lodge king and queen were crowned. King Vincent Hendrics and Queen Maxine Bailey will reign for the next year.
