Sleep apnea support group to begin Oct. 27
Lakewood Health System’s durable medical equipment store Medical Marketplace will host a series of sleep apnea support group meetings held October 2009 through March 2010. Occupational therapy forum to be held at LHS
Occupational therapy, by definition, implements the therapeutic use of self-care, work and play activities to increase independent function, enhance development and prevent disability. A test is available at Lakewood Health System to determine the level of care an individual must need to remain as independent as possible. Janet Byland, the newest occupational therapist at Lakewood conducts this test, called Cognitive Performance Testing.September 11, 2009
Unicare accepted at LHS
Lakewood Health System announced it will continue to serve patients with Unicare insurance coverage. Due to recent policy changes, some area healthcare providers are no longer accepting Unicare, a Medicare Advantage Plan. In some cases, specialists who visit Lakewood Health System from other healthcare systems are unable to accept Unicare.September 02, 2009
