Wadena-Deer Creek ninth-grade students in Craig Klawitter’s physical science class recently experimented with carbon dioxide gas in one of their labs. Students learned how to determine the properties of carbon dioxide, as well as incorporate past lessons into the lab.

The fundraising campaign is underway, and according to Gary Sellman, treasurer, contributions and pledges so far total a bit more than $15,000, which is $10,000 under the goal set by the local board to meet the commitments to the agencies. With increased need during tough economic times, the United Way board encouraged contributions, which can be sent to Box 22, Wadena.

TCH to offer infant massage classes in December

Tri-County Hospital offers monthly infant massage classes for parents and babies called “Infant Massage …. For a Better Beginning.” The classes are held on the first three Thursdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. The December classes will be Dec. 3, 10 and 17 at TCH.
