Margaret Currie

Margaret Dorothy Currie, 92, of Wadena, passed away Feb. 24, 2010, at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena.

Margaret was born May 28, 1917 to Ernest and Nora (Nelson) Rodekuhr in Compton Township, Otter Tail County.

Margaret was a life long resident of Wadena. She was united in marriage with Ross Randolph Currie on June 15, 1940 in Wadena. Together they owned and operated Currie’s TV. Margaret was also a hairdresser and operated her own beauty shop. Ross passed away on Nov. 22, 1997. Besides caring for her family she was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking.

Funeral services were held March 1 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena, with the Rev. Stephen Meltzer officiating. Pallbearers were all of her family. Interment was in the Wadena Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).

Survivors include her son, Tim, of Wadena; daughter ,Sandra (Gary) McDonald, of Rhinebeck, N.Y.; and her grandsons, Tyler and Brandon Currie.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ross; her parents; infant brother, Norman; brothers, Elmer and Arthur Rodekuhr; sisters, Ella Braun, Clara Stump, Mae Wilson, Libby Christianson, Violet Head and Beulah Thompson.
