Upcoming flu shot clinic at WMC postponed

Due to an overwhelming demand for seasonal flu shots this fall, coupled with a related regional and national shortage of the seasonal flu vaccine, Wadena Medical Center has postponed its upcoming flu shot clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

“Although we have depleted our initial supply, we have already vaccinated over 2,440 people throughout the Tri-County Health Care system,” explained Judy White, Clinic Administrator. “Unfortunately, the supply hasn’t been able to keep up with the demand but there’s more seasonal flu vaccine on the way.”

Once additional vaccine becomes available, announcements will be made regarding rescheduling of flu shot clinics.

The flu vaccination is recommended for everyone to help protect high-risk and healthy persons from disease. Go to the Web site for more information on upcoming flu shot clinics at www.tricountyhospital.org.
