Two men were charged Aug. 24 in Wadena County District Court with first-degree damage to property — value reduced more than $1,000 for allegedly damaging a greenhouse, a pickup, a bicycle and a scooter.

Roderick Dennis Freeman, 18, of Menahga, and Mitchell Lee Ullery, 18, of Park Rapids, each will make their initial court appearances on Sept. 21 on the charges.

According to a court complaint, the two cut the plastic side wall of a greenhouse at Greener Tomorrows, a nursery in Menahga, and broke out the window of a Ford pickup there.

Freeman was interviewed by police, and admitted he and two others had been walking by the greenhouses when they vandalized them, court records said. Freeman also allegedly admitted to taking, riding and smashing a scooter and a bicycle with the other two people. The group also allegedly pulled road signs out of the ground and placed them in the playground area of an apartment building.
